Full Title: “Grammy-nominated jazz musician slated for Friday night West Newbury show (via Newbury Port News)”

Grammy-­nom­inated trombonist and composer Alan Fer­ber visits Pen­tuck­et Regional High School this weekend to jam with the award-winning Jazz Combo at the annual Spring Café Jazz. 

Pentucket’s Big Band, Improv Group and the Jazz Band from the middle school will also perform at the event slated Friday at 7 p.m. at the high school.

Considered a world premier jazz composer and arranger, Ferber is an adjunct professor of jazz studies at New York University’s Steinhardt School. His music has been described as both “cutting edge” and “old school”; and his 2013 album “March Sublime” was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Large Jazz Ensemble Category.
