Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. announces jazz album (via Entertainment Weekly)

Leslie Odom Jr. is hitting the recording studio: The performer, who made his Broadway debut as Paul in Rent before earning a Tony nomination for his Hamilton role, is set to release a self-titled jazz album via S-Curve Records this summer.

The album will feature 10 of Odom’s favorite songs that inspired him to become the star he is today, including his own renditions of Jerome Kern’s “Look for the Silver Lining,” Spring Awakening’s “The Guilty Ones,” and “Autumn Leaves.”

“I’m so excited about my new partnership with the talented and motivated team at S-Curve Records!” Odom said in a statement. “We want to make music that you can feel. We so appreciate the early support for the record from friends and fans around the world. We endeavor to make you proud. Follow along and please enjoy!”

The album arrives June 10.
