Jazz, Carpenters music at Western Carolina this weekend (via Citizen Times)

Western Carolina University is hosting two music events with broad appeal on campus this weekend. One also includes a Sunday show in Asheville:

WCU Jazz Festival. Saxophone master Rick Margitza will be the special guest performing and instructing at the 2015 Jazz Festival on Saturday.

All classes, rehearsals and performances will be open to the public free of charge and held in the Coulter Building recital hall.

Margitza will instruct a jazz improvisation master class for WCU students at 12:30 p.m., followed by rehearsals at 2:30 p.m. with the WCU Jazz Ensemble and at 4 p.m. with the Pavel Wlosok Trio. Performances scheduled for the evening include Margitza with the jazz ensemble at 7:30 p.m. and with the trio at 8:30 p.m.
