Jazz Listings for Aug. 28-Sept. 3 (via NY Times)

Peter and Will Anderson Quintet (Friday) The upstanding young torchbearers Peter and Will Anderson — they’re also saxophonists, clarinetists, Juilliard alumni and identical twins — draw from their recent album, “Déjà Vu,” with the pianist Jeb Patton, the bassist David Wong and the drummer Kenny Washington. At 8 and 10 p.m., Jazz at Kitano, 66 Park Avenue, at 38th Street, 212-885-7119, kitano.com. (Nate Chinen)

Kenny Barron and Ray Drummond (Friday and Saturday) Last year around this time, the West Village welcomed a spruce new jazz room, Mezzrow, with a stated emphasis on piano duos. The club has thrived, and will celebrate this weekend with a marquee booking: Mr. Barron, an erudite postbop pianist, and his longtime associate Mr. Drummond, an unerring bassist. From 9:30 p.m. to midnight, 163 West 10th Street, 646-476-4346, mezzrow.com. (Chinen)

Brazil Fest at Cornelia Street Café (Friday and Saturday) This celebration of Brazilian jazz includes a quintet led by the guitarist Billy Newman (Friday at 9 p.m.); a quartet led by the saxophonist Livio Almeida (Friday at 10:30 p.m.); a trio led by the pianist Helio Alves (Saturday at 9 p.m.); and the Zé Luis Quartet, whose leader plays tenor saxophone and flute (Saturday at 10:30 p.m.). At 29 Cornelia Street, Greenwich Village, 212-989-9319, corneliastreetcafe.com. (Chinen)
