Jazz on Jefferson offers up music, food and fun for 12th year (via MLive)

The beat of drums signaled the start of the 12th annual Jazz on Jefferson on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 3.

The Saginaw High School Mighty Trojans Drum Line kicked off the yearly entertainment event held along a portion of South Jefferson Avenue, from Federal to Thompson, on Saginaw’s East Side.

The Trojans provided just one of many musical options, with instrumentalists and vocalists impressing the crowds.

Other highlights included horse-drawn carriage rides, a classic motorcycle show, open houses and food vendors.

“It’s pretty nice to just to see everything,” said Sean Wilkins of Saginaw. “Music, cars, food. It’s good to see something in the city.”

With perfect weather, a large crowd came out this year to enjoy the event, which organizers have called “a celebration of place.”
