Full Title: “Jazz St. Louis 2017-18 season: Take 6, Herbie Hancock, Joshua Redman, the Yellowjackets (via St. Louis Post-Dispatch)”

Take 6, Herbie Hancock, Joshua Redman, Jane Monheit, the Yellowjackets, Poncho Sanchez, the Bad Plus, Cyrus Chestnut, Terell Stafford, Arturo Sandoval and Jeremy Davenport are some of the acts highlighting Jazz St. Louis’ 2017-18 series.

Also taking place during the season is the pairing of trumpeter Russell Gunn with the last surviving player from Miles Davis’ “Kind of Blue” album, drummer Jimmy Cobb. The John Scofield Joe Lovano Quartet also performs.

Acts making their debut this coming season are saxophonist-singer Grace Kelly, the Harold Lopez-Nussa Trio and singer Alicia Olatuja. The season will also feature the worldwide debut of the Bad Plus with pianist Orrin Evans. It will be the group’s first public performance with the new lineup.
