Two local recent high school graduates will have the chance to continue to foster their love of music thanks to scholarships given by The Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation (JSJBF). Allison LaRochelle of Belford and Evan Wright of Flemington, both received scholarships during the Point Pleasant Jazz & Blues Festival on Saturday, June 20. The scholarships were given in remembrance and celebration of jazz guitarist Tal Farlow and dedicated JSJBF member Lloyd R. Daley.

Elizabeth Chang, daughter of the late Lloyd R. Daley who passed away last June, said the scholarship is a great way to honor her father’s legacy.

“He believed in the power of music to unite, break down barriers and provide joy and beauty in the world,” she said.
