Making Your Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival Experience EPIC

Do you want to maximize your experience during the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival? Well Destination Jazz has a few tips to make it EPIC!

When you think of a Caribbean escape with the ultimate concert line-up on a beach side venue you know you have arrived to the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival (CNSJF).

The concert takes place at the World Trade Center Piscadera Bay on three stages with the hottest artists performing over two nights. Whether you attend one night or both, you are guaranteed to view the best musical performances of the year.

Destination Jazz has a few suggestions on how to maximize your CNSJF experience:

1. Make a Plan

Visit the CNSJF website for comprehensive festival information.
On you will find artist bios, performance schedules and venue layout information.

Be sure to grab a printed program or download the official program journal using the following link. CNSJF Program

Decide your top priority performances and create a personal concert schedule.

Destination Jazz Super Tip – The Tech Savvy concert goer should download the CNSJF mobile app. Curacao Media has developed an awesome free app for your smart device. The app is called Curacao North Sea Jazz.

2. How Do You Like to Party?

There are several viewing options for the CNSJF.

Front Stage Center: Rush the stage and see your favorite artist perform up close and personal. If you love to stand so close to the stage that you are in the mosh pit, then be sure to stake out your space 20-30 minutes prior to the scheduled performance time. Remember, the early bird catches the worm.

Bleacher Creature: Each performance stage has a set of risers for attendees who enjoy the seated concert experience. Not only do you get the maximum concert experience with large projection screens, and full stage view point, but also the comfort of knowing your freshly purchased beer will not be knocked out of your hand by an enthusiastic jazz fan.

Café Express: The Sam Cooke Concert Stage features several café tables for guests to sit, eat, drink and enjoy the show.

Destination Jazz Super Tip – Pace yourself and switch it up. Start off as a Bleacher Creature then end the night Front Stage Center.

3. Eat, Drink and Be Merry

The food offerings within the CNSJF are as exhilarating as the performances themselves. Whatever is your fancy, CNSJF fulfills your needs – burgers, local culinary favorites, vegetarian delights and even sushi. The CNSJF Food Garden has it all!

When it’s time to wash it all down, your beverage choices include sodas, beer, spirits and champagne.

Destination Jazz Super Tip: Look for the Stroopwafels Truck….talk about a delicious treat!

4. Cash to Coins

Who wants to fumble with cash? CNSJF created a genius token coin system that will allow you to purchase food and drinks with their official token. Food stations do not accept cash for any purchases, so be sure to purchase your tokens at one of the four locations and then make your way to the food garden.

Destination Jazz Super Tip: If you have unused tokens at the end of the night or at the conclusion of the festival, return to the token purchase area to redeem your coins for cash.

5. When Nature Calls

CNSJF sets up luxury portable toilettes for concert guests. The amenities on the port-a-johns are pretty awesome featuring washing stations inside and outside of the units. The conscientious staff of attendants maintains this area with efficiency.

Destination Jazz Super Tip: The two on-site restroom areas have multiple entrances. You can always walk down to the next entrance to avoid the bottleneck line.

6. The Merchandise Mart – Super Swag (apparel)

CNSJF produces incredible festival branded items for purchase. Each year a hot item is launched that makes concert goers crazy.

Destination Jazz Super Tip: If you see something you like, grab it while you can because sometimes things can go pretty fast, it may not last.

7. Comfort is Key

This is a Jazz Festival with lots of standing and walking. We highly recommend that you wear comfortable shoes. Your feet will thank you in the morning.

Destination Jazz Super Tip: Ladies if you want to wear your super sexy sundress, be sure to bring a light wrap scarf for the end of the night. When the beautiful island breeze comes through, you want to be cute and comfy.

8. Getting There

Some drive, some cab it and others take prearranged group ground
transportation. Identify which transportation option you will utilize in advance and for the duration of the festival. Coordinating your transportation on the day of the festival can be very challenging.

Destination Jazz Super Tip: If you are staying at one of the local hotels, contact the Concierge to see if they are offering group bus transportation to the venue. It’s a cost effective and efficient option.

9. Social Media Savvy:

Follow Destination Jazz on all social media outlets for updates, tips and cool photos throughout the weekend. We will feature hot spots, supertips and fan fun.

Destination Jazz Super Tip: Be sure to tag all of your posts with #CNSJF14 and #DestinationJazz

10. The Recovery

After the concerts are over and you are lounging on the beach or beside the pool, visit for local restaurant suggestions, drink recommendations and fun island activities.
