Music review: High Point University’s Percussion and Jazz Ensemble (via Greensboro)

High Point University’s music department is a relatively small and new program, but you’d never know that by attending one of their performances.

At Friday night’s concert in Pauline Theatre, the university’s percussion ensemble presented a concert with all the variety, adventurousness and passionate playing of a well-established music program.

This particular percussion ensemble is lucky enough to be directed by Nathan Daughtrey, who is not only a world-class performer but a well-respected and frequently performed composer as well.

The concert featured several of Daughtrey’s compositions.
