The sounds of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, drums, bass, piano and guitar could be heard drifting from the Vicksburg Convention Center Thursday night.

LA Legacy Jazz Orchestra performed for approximately 300 people for the second annual Ritz on the River at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

Ritz on the River was such a hit last year, that many people in attendance were sorry they missed the first one.

“This is my first one,” Lynn Foley said. “I missed last year’s because I had to go out of town, but made sure to be here this year. I heard last year was fantastic.”

David Rorick also heard this event was one to experience.

“We did not come last year, but we heard it was really good.” he said.

Rorick came dressed for the event, decked out in a suit and tie and sporting a pair of musical themed suspenders.

Others had attended last year’s event and were excited to see what the night had in store.
