Soak up the good music at Jazz in Glen Ellyn (via Chicago Tribune)

But many things sound better than sitting outside, enjoying a jazz combo and a glass of wine on a warm summer evening.

That picture-perfect scene can be yours at the annual Jazz in Glen Ellyn festival, beginning at 4:30 p.m. July 11 in downtown Glen Ellyn.

This is the fourth year for Jazz in Glen Ellyn, formerly known as Glen Ellyn Jazz Fest.

“It has been a phenomenal program for the Chamber,” said Chamber of Commerce executive director Mike Formento. “We have seen continual growth in the attendance. Assuming Mother Nature treats us well and we have a nice day, we are expecting about 3,000 people out for this event.”

There will be four groups entertaining the masses Saturday, he said.

“Every year we have been very fortunate in finding wonderful entertainers,” he said. “This year we start out with gypsy jazz from a group called Le Percolateur. Then we have the Stephanie Browning Quartet, and she sings in the mood of Ella Fitzgerald.
