‘Swing into Summer’ with NH night of jazz (via Union Leader)

Saxophonist Scott Mullett and his jazz quartet “Swing into Summer” with classical jazz singer Rebecca Holtz in a 7:30 p.m. concert Monday, June 1,at the Redfern Arts Center at Keene State College.

In addition to Mullett on tenor saxophone, the Keene-based jazz quartet also features Joe Mazarella on piano, Steve Cady on bass and Jon Fisher on drums. Mullett’s resume includes tours and performances with Woody Herman, Artie Shaw, Lionel Hampton, Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Stan Getz, Lou Rawls, Ben Vereen and Cab Calloway.

Mullett teaches jazz studies at KSC and the Vermont Jazz Center, and also directs the Keene Jazz Orchestra, an 18-piece jazz ensemble comprised of area musicians and educators.
